Blog Series: Highlighting Local San Diego Professionals - Brooke Kettering, LMFT

Brooke Ketterling, LMFT. Therapist in San Diego, CA

Having a network of therapists with whom I can refer clients to is an important part of my work. Today, I’d like to highlight a colleague that I have had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know. Meet Brooke Ketterling, LMFT a therapist located here in San Diego:

Why did you decide to open your therapy practice in San Diego, CA?

My private practice business is primarily virtual, based in San Diego. I am affiliated with a couple local ketamine clinics, and I teach yoga at a studio in ocean beach. I decided to go into private practice after years of community mental health work, and wanting to be able to go deeper with clients (more sessions permitted) and to work with a wider variety of clients, as well as implement interventions including EMDR and ketamine therapy.

What kind of services do you provide?

1:1 virtual counseling for adults, integration and preparation for psychedelic assisted therapy, ketamine therapy through Journey Clinical and Kadima.

How does your service help people with trauma

Both EMDR and ketamine therapy have been widely researched. They facilitate neuroplasticity and the application of more adaptive processing of past experiences.

What kind of people do you love working with?

I love working with adults who struggle with anxiety, PTSD and grief.

What happens during a first appointment with you?

I usually have 15-30 minute free consultations in order to determine if we’re a good fit for each other. The first session is a lot of gathering information, sharing my techniques, and building rapport.

What do you wish people knew about services with you?

I want people to know I truly believe I learn from each of my clients, that each person that comes to me is with me specifically for a reason (for myself and my growth as well as theirs), and that I am honored to walk the healing path alongside them.
